How often should I get my house windows cleaned?
Most residencial clients require their windows cleaned every 3 - 4 months. However, this can vary depending on many factors, such as traffic pollution, if the house is near the beach and is affected by salt spray, or if there are a lot of little children or pets putting dirty hands or paws on the glass, etc.
How much does it cost?
The price for window cleaning depends on the amount and difficulty of the windows. Given that few jobs are the same, our window cleaners are prepared to come to your home or office free of charge to give you a competitive quote - obligation free. Alternatively, provide a detailed description on the 'Contact Us' page.
How do you accept payment?
You can pay the window cleaner when he comes to do the job either by Cash,
Cheque or Bank Transfer.

What do you include in the "Window Clean"?
Obviosly, we clean the glass. We also wipe the frames and clean any flyscreens. If there are little paint spots or hard marks, we will remove them. However, where there is a lot of scraping and after renovation grime to remove, there will be additional charges. Make sure to mention anything like that.
If you need the window tracks (the bottom part of the window frame that a sliding window moves accross) cleaned, please mention this before we give the quote.

How far in advance do I need to book?
We can often carry out the job within the same week of your enquiry. If
you're in a rush, it may be possible to arrange to have the job done in
the same visit as the quote. To speed things up, email us the address, a good
description of the job with a few photos attached.

Do the window cleaners have all
the
necessary insurance cover?
Yes. You can be assured that all window cleaners carry at least $5
million or more public liability insurance. They are also covered by
Workers Compensation, and can demonstrate a 'Certificate of Currency' on request.

How do you access high windows?
It depends on the design of the building and windows. Often we can
clean the outsides from the inside. Sometimes the window pops out,
other times they open enough to be able to reach both sides from
inside. We also use poles and extension ladders. We have attained the
‘Work Safely at Heights’ (MNMG237A) qualification and are Operational
Health and Safety (OH & S) certified. Above all, we use common
sense to remain completely safe at all times.

What are you doing to reduce your carbon footprint?
WindowWasher.com.au cares for the environment and is leading the industry in green work practice.
Some steps already in place are:
Reducing car travel by using the internet and telephone more for quotes and organising work in efficient routes.
Being careful with the storage and use of all tools and detergents.
The towels and rags we use are recycled.
Detergent is never tipped down the drain and allowed to enter the water system.

What about the level 3 mandatory water restrictions now in place in Sydney?

which allows water use on hard surfaces.

Do you still come if it is raining?
We normaly continue working if it is raining. However, if we consider the weather dangerous, ie. stormy and wild winds, then we would re-schedule.

But doesn't rain make the windows dirty?
No. Residue in rain attaches itself to dirt already on the glass, often making windows look worse.
However, if the windows are clean, the rain water simply runs off.
The three main reasons windows become dirty are:
- Pollen & Dust
- Insect droppings
- Finger prints
If these are present on the glass when it rains, the residue in the rain attaches itself to the dirt and often makes the windows look worse.
So if the windows have recently been cleaned, then the rain will simply run off the clean glass and the windows continue to remain clean.

How can you reach up to 4 stories high?
We have tall ladders to reach up to 10 meters high, which our insurance covers. However, generally when it is 2 stories or higher, we use a 'Tucker Pole'.
This is a water fed extension pole that reaches up to 45 feet, with the user staying safely on the ground. For more about the Tucker Pole, click here.
